Costumes and Craziness Mark 5th Murph's Fun Run

Money raised from event goes to fund scholarships to Tewskbury High students.

The 5th annual Murph’s Fun Run, a six-mile race through Tewksbury, took place Saturday.

The race was organized to celebrate the life of Jerry Murphy, a Tewksbury native who died prematurely at the age of 58.

Runners, many in wild costumes, compete in teams, and in addition 'to completing the course, they have to complete challenges along the way.

The proceeds generated from the race go to the Jerry Murphy Memorial Scholarship Fund. Organizrs seek to fund four $1,000 scholarships for students of Tewksbury Memorial High each year.
