Couple Facing Drug Trafficking Charges After Arrest At Motel 6
Elvin L. Mendoza, 22, of Lawrence, and Yanela Y. Correa, 18, of Manchester, NH, were arrested Tuesday.
TEWKSBURY, MA -- Police who went to serve warrants to a Lawrence man at the Motel 6 in Tewksbury ended up arresting him and an 18-year-old woman on drug trafficking charges. Tewksbury Police charged Elvin L. Mendoza, 22, of Lawrence, trafficking cocaine over 36 grams, operating on a revoked license and with having two default warrants for trafficking heroin over 100 grams. Yanela Y. Correa, 18, of Manchester, NH, was charged with trafficking cocaine over 36 grams.
Police found 47.6 grams of cocaine in the couple's motel room when they went to serve the warrants. Both were scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday.
