Couple Had Assault Gear With Huge Weapons Cache: Investigators

Prosecutors said they have not uncovered a 'specific plot of wider conspiracy' in connection with the Texas couple arrested in Tewksbury.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Authorities have not connected the Texas couple allegedly in possession of a massive weapons cache and assault gear to a "specific plot or wider conspiracy," the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. Francho Bradley, 59, and Adrianne Jennings, 40, of Frisco, Texas, were ordered held without bail at a dangerousness hearing Friday morning in Lowell District Court.

Police responding to a call from Bradley for a reported break-in to their Tewksbury hotel room found several large-capacity firearms and ammunition in the room, including several long guns wrapped in a flight suit. After arresting the couple, police found more weapons, ammunition, large capacity feeding devices, and infernal machines in their vehicle. The weapons included an AK-47, an AR-15 with a grenade launcher, a large capacity shotgun, a bump stock and numerous rounds of ammunition, police said.

Police also said they found multiple vests, helmets, and other tactical gear in the hotel room.

Bradley reportedly told police he worked for a "secret government agency." A preliminary investigation points to Bradley having worked for a Cambridge company, in the area where he received multiple parking tickets that were recovered in the room. Both defendants were working while they were staying at the Residence Inn in Tewksbury, prosecutors said.

Bradley allegedly told investigators the gear was for a secret mission and gave a fake Department of Defense Badge, prosecutors said. The defendants allegedly drove to Massachusetts from Texas with the items found in the room and vehicle.

Bradley and Jennings are charged with multiple counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, multiple counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device, multiple counts of improper storage of a large capacity firearm, one count of possession of a firearm without a license, one count of possession of ammunition without a license three counts of possession of an infernal machine and possession of a machine gun (bump stock).

Bradley had called Tewksbury Police around 3:44 p.m. last Saturday, allegedly saying he thought his hotel room was being broken into because a video surveillance device he attached to his door had cut out. When police arrived, they located a load of weapons, including several high capacity weapons, ammunition, large capacity feeding devices, and infernal machines. State Police administered a ballistics test and determined the weapons were operable.

The couple is due back in court April 26 for a probable cause hearing.

Multiple agencies, including state and local police, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, are investigating.
