Curbside pick up will be offered Monday through Friday from 11:00am until 3:00pm, and also on Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. To accommodate as many people as possible, each card holder is limited to one pick up per week and a maximum of 20 items per week.

To request items, patrons can do one of two things:

  • If requesting specific titles, patrons should log onto the online catalog at tewksburypl.org. They can place a request, also called “placing a hold,” on any item in the catalog. Please note that at this time, only holds placed on items owned by the Tewksbury Public Library will be able to be provided. At this time, the statewide delivery service between libraries is not active.
  • If the preference is to let the library staff choose materials for you, patrons can use the new Library To Go forms found on our website at tewksburypl.org. This service will also begin on June 1st. Based on preferences gathered from the form, library staff will pick out selections for you. Once the items have been collected, the patron will be notified so that a pick up appointment may be made. There are separate forms for children’s, teen and adult materials. Again, this service is only for items at the Tewksbury Public Library.

When the patron has been notified that their items are ready via phone or email, they will then be able to choose a pick up window at the library. Patrons may schedule their time and date themselves via our online calendar or they can call the library to schedule a time. Items will be available to be picked up for one week after the patron has been notified that they are available.

The requested items will be placed on a cart outside of the front doors in a paper bag labeled with the last name, date and time. Patrons may arrive any time during their 30 minute appointment window, walk up to the cart and take the bag labeled with their last name. Items will already have been checked out to the patron’s library card. Please remember to use physical distancing guidelines while picking up your items. While we may call it curbside, please park in one of the available parking spaces to collect your items. Stopping in the fire lane outside of the building is illegal and may block traffic.

Materials are expected to be returned on time via our outside book and video drops. All items returned to the library will be quarantined for 72 hours before they are checked in. Don’t be alarmed if your account still shows items you’ve returned on it in the first few days; those items are just awaiting a safe check in.

If you have any questions about this service, the status of your library card, or anything else, please give us a call at 978-640-4490 x202. We are happy to help you.
