Discolored Water In Town Of Tewksbury

The Department of Public Works and the Water Treatment Plant are aware of issues throughout town of discolored water. The Water Treatment Plant is currently pumping extremely high volumes of water due to drought conditions and many residents working from home; the discoloration is caused by the scouring of rust corrosion on the inside of iron water mains from these extreme flows. All water in our distribution system is treated, potable, and safe, however the taste and odor quality may vary during this time.
