Tewksbury Public Schools warned parents that buses home were likely to be delayed Friday afternoon.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The sole occupant of a Jeep that was crushed by a falling tree Friday was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Tewksbury Police. The update, along with a photo of the damage, was posted on Twitter by the department early Friday afternoon.
Tewksbury Police said East Street would remain closed until the wreckage could be cleared. There were multiple reports of downed limbs and blocked roadways throughout town, and police were urging people to not approach any downed power lines.
Meanwhile, Tewksbury Public Schools said the downed trees throughout town were likely to cause significant delays for students taking the bus home. "School bus service may be delayed at the Ryan and K-4 elementary schools. Please be patient if your bus is later than usual. We anticipate that we will have a slow commute home," the district said on its Website and in a message to parents.
