WAREHAM - Eduardo V. Leite, age 68, a well known North Shore businessman, died Tuesday morning, October 29, at the Trillium Health Center in Mississauga, from an apparent heart attack while vacationing in Toronto, Ontario. He was the beloved husband of Maria E. (Neves) Leite, with whom he would celebrate a 42nd wedding anniversary on December 5th.
Eduardo was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, on August 10, 1945, one of four children of the late Jose P. Leite and Rosalina Vieira Leite. He was raised in Sao Miguel, and upon graduation from High School served in the Portuguese Army. He served in the war in Angola in Africa from 1967 to 1969.

Upon emigrating to the United States, he settled in Cambridge, and also lived in Saugus before retiring to Wareham in 2008.
He founded and operated a multi location dry cleaning company called Ser-Vis Cleaners, based in Beverly, with other stores in North Reading and Danvers.

Eduardo was best known for his love of Soccer. He was a co-founder of the Somerville Sports Club, and was especially proud of his association with the Sporting Clube Ideal, soccer team in the Azores.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra Barletta and her husband Robert of Wilmington, and Karen Melo and her husband Michael of Tewksbury; five adored grandchildren, Nadia Barletta and Sofia Barletta, Christopher Melo, Catia Melo and Claudia Melo; a sister, Estrela Rego of Somerville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jose P. Vieira and sister Isaura Andrade.
Visiting hours Sunday, Nov. 3, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
