Edwards Brothers Are Bringing Their Holiday Show To The Senior Center

The latest events and news from the Tewksbury Senior Center.

Please note that due to other community events the Senior Center Sunday Breakfast scheduled for this coming Sunday, December 2nd  has been CANCELLED.

Mike McDermott shall hold the Mens Group at the Senior Center this Thursday, November 29th at 9:00 AM.  Why not come on down and have a cup of coffee and chat with the guys...its a great group.

The Festival of Trees at the Tewksbury Library will be held this Friday, November 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  The evening includes several chorus groups, tree displays and fun for the youngsters.  It should be noted that tree displays can be seen throughout the month of December during regular Library hours.  Look for the Senior Center tree...its has another “different look” this year.

At 7:00 PM this Friday the “Lighting of the Town Common Tree Lights” will take place.  Jolly Olde Santa will be arriving to greet the children and conduct the count down right after the Library Director, reads a Christmas story to the children.  On this same evening the Congregational Church will hold its holiday pie event.  So if your wondering what to do this Friday evening...just mosey on down to the Library, then the Common and the church...for a full and exciting holiday season beginning.

If that's not your cup of tea, so to speak, come on over to the Senior Center where they'll be some stomping of feet and dancing at the Senior Center Country Western Dance, this Friday, November 30th from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  Tickets are $10 and available at the door.  Music is being provided by the John Penny Band. Yeehaw...what a night.

Tickets are also available for the following holiday events:

  • The COA and Friends will hold the Senior Center Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 7th.  The ticket cost is $15 and includes a buffet dinner catered by the Village Inn and dancing to the sounds of the Perfect Match Band.  Please note that ticket sales will end on November 30th.
  • On Sunday, December 9th, the  the Edwards Twins will be back in Tewksbury at the Senior Center to perform their Christmas Shows.  A matinee will be held at 1:00 PM and an evening show at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $30 per person and going fast.  These shows are open to the general public and are guaranteed to be enjoyed by all.  The twins, Tony & Ed, are celebraty impersonators who appear as male and female stars.  They sing and look so much like the stars themselves and are know in Las Vegas and locally from their appearances at the Stoneham Theatre and other area venues.  This take is well worth you dollars and will be one you'll long remember.
  • Then on Thursday, December 13th, the Red Hat Carnation Belles will hold their Christmas Dinner. Tickets are $25 per Belle and must be purchased by December 5th.  The event includes a plated dinner and entertainment by the “Uptown Girls”...a most entertaining duet.
  • And, if your looking for somewhere special to go on New Years Eve, the Senior Center is the place. Tickets are $50 per person and the evening includes a buffet dinner at 7:00 PM catered by the Village Inn.  Dancing to the Perfect Match Band will follow. Why not bring in 2013 with good friends and join us on, Monday, December 31st... New Years Eve...a good time is on the agenda.

The COA is now assisting Tewksbury Senior  Citizens with Fuel Assistance applications. To obtain information on the fuel assistance program and/or to schedule an appointment call 978-640-4482. The eligibility guidelines are:   one person household up to $31,218; two family household up to $40,824; family of three $50,515; and, family of four $60,035.  There are further guidelines for larger families.  Younger families may call the Billerica Veteran's Agent at 978-671-0968 or Community Teamwork at 978-459-6161 for information and assistance.  Every little bit helps these days so don't hesitate to apply if you qualify.
