Elaine (Sharkey) Lightfoot, 69, of Tewksbury

Elaine graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1965, and was a well-known member of the grater Tewksbury community.

TEWKSBURY - Elaine (Sharkey) Lightfoot, age 69, a well known member of the greater Tewksbury community, died peacefully on Saturday morning, Aug. 6, at the Tewksbury Hospital, surrounded by her beloved family, after a long period of declining health.

She was born in Somerville in April 1947, a daughter of the late Walter and Patricia (Irons) Sharkey, and raised in Tewksbury. She graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1965, had remained a Tewksbury resident throughout her adult life, and a communicant of St. William’s Church. Elaine was employed as a payroll and office specialist at Frank’s Heating company.

She leaves three children, Kellie and her husband John Wayne of Lowell, Timothy and his wife Maria Lightfoot of Tewksbury, and Erin and her husband Pete Maniscalco of Lowell; five grandchildren, Danny, Brooke, and Jack Lightfoot, Reese and Reagan Maniscalco all of Tewksbury; her siblings, James and his wife Karen (Richardson) Sharkey of Tewksbury, William and his wife Kathy (Trainor) Sharkey of Tewksbury, and Jacqueline Gumbrecht of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews including Paige and Jenna Gumbrecht both of Tewksbury; and numerous friends throughout the Merrimack Valley.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Aug. 8, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) in Tewksbury Center, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.

Her funeral will begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Lahey Clinic Cancer Center, 41 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01803 will be appreciated.
