About the Program
Art is meant to be appreciated, even bad art. Since 1994 the Museum of Bad Art has collected, exhibited and celebrated the worst of art. Louise Reilly Sacco describes the thinking behind the museum, their selection criteria and its relationship to the artists. She will have slides of many of MOBA's masterpieces and will even bring along actual pieces from their collection.
About the Presenter
Louise Reilly Sacco is Permanent Acting Interim Executive Director of the Museum of Bad Art. As one of the founding members, she has been with MOBA since its founding in her brother's small basement in West Roxbury. She has seen MOBA gain prominence, publishing two books, establishing a web presence, opening three physical locations, and building a network of over 16,000 FOMOBAs (Friends of MOBA) around the world. With Michael Frank, she is author of "Museum Of Bad Art: Masterworks."
Special Note!
Think you have a museum-worthy piece of bad art? Want to donate it to the world's leading (and only) museum dedicated to bad art? Bring it along and get an on-the-spot evaluation. If your piece is accepted, you'll be an actual art museum donor!
