Fundraiser in Tewksbury Seeks to Help Grant Vet's Dying Wish: Report

The event will be held Friday night.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A fundraiser set to take place in Tewksbury Friday night aims to help grant a Vietnam War veteran's dying wish of being buried next to his late brother, reports the Lowell Sun.

Ricky Spires', originally from Tewksbury, wishes to be buried next to his late brother Bobby Spires in Tewksbury, according to the Lowell Sun's report. However, Ricky suffers from a terminal cancer and is located in Florida, and his insurance company won't cover the cost of the move.

Both Ricky and Bobby served in Vietnam. Burlington resident Fred Shine, a friend of both Ricky and Bobby, has organized a fundraising event to help bring Ricky home.
