Girls Lacrosse Readies for Postseason Appearance
The MIAA released its postseason brackets on Thursday, and Tewksbury High School snagged the No. 16 seed.

The Tewksbury High School girls lacrosse season will go on for at least one more game.
Following a 5-10 regular season, the Redmen earned a spot in the North Division 2 postseason, snagging the No. 16 seed in the tournament.
On Thursday, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association announced its postseason pairings, and Tewksbury learned that it will face off with Winchester in a first round match up.

The game, which is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m., provides the locals with a chance to pull a major upset. Winchester enters the playoffs at 16-3-1, good for the top seed in the bracket.
Whichever team wins the opening round game will take on either Hamilton-Wenham or Austin Prep in the quarterfinal round.

Tewksbury has been playing much of the season without one of the top players in program history. According to an article in the Tewksbury Town Crier, senior Melissa Peters tied the program scoring mark with 143 goals. But before she could break the record, she was diagnosed with two stress fractures in her back and has been out since.
Still, the team managed to find a spot in the postseason. They'll be joined their by the Redmen boys lacrosse team, which won its league title and will find out its pairing on Friday morning.
