Haverhill Man Accused Of 35 Tewksbury Car Break-Ins

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police detectives arrested a Haverhill man they believe is responsible for numerous car break-ins over the past several weeks. Keegan MaCrae, 23, of Haverhill, was scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court Tuesday on 35 counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle with the intent to commit a misdemeanor, 20 counts of larceny under $1200, three counts of attempt to commit a crime to wit breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, five counts of receiving stolen property under $1200, possession of a dangerous weapon (double-edged machete) and possession of gabapentin.

Detectives identified MaCrae as a person of interest after reviewing surveillance footage and the locations of the reported break-ins. When police questioned MaCrae, they recovered some of the stolen property from his vehicle.

The break-ins linked to MaCrae occurred on Summer Street, Heritage Drive, Kent Street, Marie Street, Pleasant Street, Dewey Street, Helvetia Street, Pillsbury Avenue and Debra Drive, police said.
