High School Roundup: THS Volleyball Team Cruises in Opener
Redwomen spike Stoneham in straight sets.

The Tewksbury girls volleyball team got off to an outstanding start with a 26-24, 25-17, 25-21 thrashing of Stoneham in a non-league match earlier this week.
Ali Remigio led the way for the Redwomen with four kills and three blocks.
Alina Rasmarofski and Allie Luppi added three kills and a pair of service aces each.

Tewksbury 4
Lawrence 0
Pat Bernardo had two goals and an assist to lead Tewksbury to a 4-0 thumping of Lawrence.
Rich Kirby and Stefan Monteiro also scored for the Redmen, who did all their damage in the first 24 minutes of the game. Johnny DiGiorgio and Colin Foley had one assist each for THS.
Niko Cunha, Tyler McQuesten and Scott Middleton played strong defensive games to back up the shutout goalkeeping of Alex Bouthot, who turned aside four shots.
Chelsea 3
Shawsheen 0
Shawsheen Tech fell behind 3-0 in the first 20 minutes of action and was never able to recover in a CAC loss to Chelsea.
The Rams played a strong game the rest of the way but were never able to eat into the Chelsea lead. Robbie Goodell made 10 saves in his first varsity start for Shawsheen.
Brian Gallagher played well on the defensive end for the Rams, as did Sean Plunkett and freshman TJ Barriss.

You don't see too many shutouts in golf. The feat was made that much more rare when senior Ryan Doherty sank an ace on the 125-yard Par 3 4th hole.
Doherty , Tyler Slavin, Craig Semenza, Ryan Casey, Brian Donahue, Mike Casey, Pat Doherty and Derek Petti all won their matches for Tewksbury. Doherty shot a 40 for medalist honors.
Shawsheen Tech 164
Worcester Tech 200
Dan Jacobs and Chris Clayton each carded a 40 as the Shawsheen slammed Worcester Voke at Green Hill in Worcester. Spencer Sawicki and Robert Cameron shot 42 each for the Rams.
Shawsheen 156
Austin Prep 162
Junior Stephen Murphy led the way for the Rams in a 156-162 stroke play win over Austin Prep at Patriot Golf Club in Bedford..
Murphy carded a 35 to take medalist honors. Shawsheen improved to 2-0.Also shooting well for the Rams were Dan Jacobs at 38, Chris Clayton 39 and Chris Deacetis 44.
