Historical Society Bringing Living History To Tewksbury Library

Tewksbury Historical Society: The Tewksbury Historical Society is co-sponsoring a local history event at the Tewksbury Public Library on Thursday, September 19, 2019, titled "Tewksbury History Comes Alive: An Evening with Dr. Benjamin Kittredge." Brian Cortez, a Tewksbury resident, Tewksbury Historical Society Board of Directors member, and Revolutionary War reenactor, will bring Dr. Kittredge, an 18th -century surgeon, to life. Dr. Kittredge had 8 sons, and all became doctors themselves. This event is sponsored by the Tewksbury Historical Society and the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.

Prior to Dr. Kittredge's talk, the Tewksbury Historical Society will present the Boston Post Cane, which has traditionally been awarded to Tewksbury's oldest resident, to Mary Alice Mackey Casazza, who is 100 years old. Additionally, the Society will present the Samuel Hunt Award for outstanding service and dedication to the goals of the Society to Rita O'Brien-Dee and Tony Coviello. This event begins at 7:00 PM, and the doors open at 6:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is open on the Tewksbury Public Library's website, http://www.tewksburypl.org/.
