ICYMI: Tewksbury Police to Host National Night Out Event Tuesday

Communities across the Commonwealth and North America will be participating in 'National Night Out' Events. Here's what you need to know.

On Tuesday, August 2, the Tewksbury Police Department will be joining forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “33rd Annual National Night Out” against crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, will involve over 16,124 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, over 37.8 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime”.

One of the goals of NNO is to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.The Tewksbury Police Department, in partnership with the Blair House, Peregrine’s Landing, Tewksbury Credit Union, Waddington North America, Tewksbury Patriotic Committee and the Tewksbury Public Library, will be hosting a FREE “Family Fun Night” starting at 4:30PM at the Tewksbury Memorial High School. There will be a classic car show and free cookout thanks to the generous donations of our local businesses. In addition, Big Top Party Rental, the Tewksbury Patriot Committee, Tewksbury Credit Union and Waddington North America have made the event possible. DJ Joe Cobuccio of AMP 103.3 will be providing musical entertainment as well as Dance Expressions. In the event of rain, the movie Zootopia will be played in lieu of the car show inside of the high school.

This FREE family night was made possible by our community partners and the generous donations of Salem Five, Wamesit Lanes, Enterprise Bank, Tewksbury Fire Department , Tewksbury United Methodist Church, Upper Merrimack Valley Reserve Corps, RTN Credit Union, Lowell General Hospital, Tewksbury Senior Center, Greater Lowell Health Alliance, Tewksbury School Department, Tewksbury Board of Health, and Tewksbury State Hospital.
