'Imprisoned' Grandson Found to be a Scam

Police received a call on Monday, Feb. 25 at 2:21 p.m. from a woman in Arkansas who was concerned for the safety of her grandson that lives in Tewksbury.

She was unable to get in touch with him and a party claimed that he was in a foreign country, in danger and under arrest.

The person told her that she needed to send $3,500 so that he could be freed. Police found and spoke to the grandson. He is fine and the call was a scam.

Man Allegedly Screams He Will 'End the World'

A male walked into the station on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3:04 p.m. to report that while at Petroil Gas Station on Main Street, a black male was screaming at him for no reason that he was going to kill him.

The party allegedly then screamed that he was going to end the world. The officers report that they spoke to the male. He checked out OK. He was from Texas.

Additional Incidents

On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 10:00 p.m. at Applebee’s, an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle. Shawn Burrows, 23, of 392 Main Street in Sandown, N.H., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as an HTO.

On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 1:46 p.m. police received a call for a motor vehicle that went off the road on I-495 in between Exit 38 and 39. State Police were sent and there were no injuries. The car was towed from the crash.

On Monday, Feb. 25, at 12:16 p.m. a resident on Vale Street called to report a problem with someone over an item on Craigslist. A car was sent to check on the situation.
