Legislature Overrides Veto, Restores $90k for Tewksbury Fire Department
Lawmakers also restored $20,000 for Camp Pohelo and $200,000 for Tewksbury's Into Action Recovery Program, according to Senator L'Italien.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Massachusetts State Legislature overruled a veto by Gov. Charlie Baker to allow for funding for the Tewksbury Fire Department and other town departments Sunday, Sen. Barbara L'Italien (D-Andover) announced Monday.
According to L'Italien's announcement, the Legislative override allows for $90,000 in the 2017 state budget for the Tewksbury Fire Department. Lawmakers also restored $20,000 for Camp Pohelo and $200,000 for Tewksbury's Into Action Recovery Program, L'Italien said.
"Sen. Barbara L’Italien (D-Andover) sponsored the Fire Department budget amendment in the Senate and made overriding the governor’s veto among her top priorities this past weekend. State Rep. Jim Miceli (D-Wilmington) backed the Tewksbyury funding in the House of Representatives," the release said.
