LISTEN: Police Chief Gives Final Radio Call to Retiring Officer

Tewksbury police officer Kevin Reese has received thousands of radio calls in his career. He received one final call Friday.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Like he has done countless times, Tewksbury police officer Kevin Reese answered a radio call from dispatch to car 22.

A call he received Friday was different. Tewksbury police chief Timothy Sheehan was on the line and delivered the last radio call of Reese's career. Police announced Friday that Reese would be retiring from the force after 33 years, 27 of which were served in the Tewksbury Police Department.

"22. The Tewksbury Police Department and the Town of Tewksbury want to thank you of dedicated service to the law enforcement profession," Sheehan said over the radio. "We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors."
