Lowell Woman Arrested For Shoplifting And Assault

A Lowell woman faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting personnel at a local department store who tried to detain her for shoplifting.

Jessica L. Garcia, 33, 15 Avenue B, was arrested on Friday, March 30, by

According to police reports, dispatch received a call at around 11:30 a.m. from requesting assistance with a woman they had in custody for shoplifting.

Garcia was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and shoplifting items with a value over $250. She also had an outstanding warrant.

The object used in the alleged assault was not specified.

Little girl found wandering (March 29)

Officers responded to the scene and a short time later, the girl's mother arrived at the scene. According to the mother, the little girl is autistic and had wandered off.

Arrests:

Dennis Foster, 48, 327 Liberty St., Springfield, was arrested on Friday, March 30, on an outstanding warrant.

Debra A. Keniston, 53, 11 Old Boston Road, Apt. 310, Billerica, was arrested on Thursday, March 29, on an outstanding warrant.

Celso Filho, 31, 22 North St., Apt. 2, Lowell, was arrested on March 29 and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

Jacob W. Murray, 33, 10 Charme Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on March 28 on an outstanding warrant.
