LRTA Increasing Saturday Bus Service
The decision will impact Chelmsford along with Lowell and several other towns included in the regional transportation system.

The Lowell Regional Transportation Authority (LRTA) has announced at its November meeting that they're seeking public input on an increase for Saturday routes, including those in Tewksbury.
If approved, the plan would put Saturday bus routes on a schedule that will provide busses arriving by the hour at each of their stops.

LRTA Administrator Jim Scanlan has indicated increased Saturday service is the top priority for the organization, with the proposed increase improving frequency and service by 35 to 40 percent.
"No longer would passengers have to wait up to two hours for LRTA buses to arrive and depart," said Scanlan. "I am hopeful this is the first of many service improvements to the LRTA system in the coming years."
