TEWKSBURY, MA — Main Street is closed in both directions as the fire department is "working an active scene."

Here's what police posted on Facebook around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday:

The Fire Department is currently working an active scene on Main Street. Main Street is closed in both directions at this time.

• Northbound (toward Lowell): closed at Chandler Street

• Southbound (toward Wilmington): closed at Pleasant Street

Please plan alternate routes and use caution in the area.
