Man Attacks Someone With Frozen Water Bottle: Tewskbury Police

TEWKSBURY, MA — A Lawrence man was arrested Friday after Tewksbury police said he attacked someone with a water bottle.
Gerardo Rivera, 31, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and fugitive from justice on a warrant out of Hillsboro County, New Hampshire. In New Hampshire, Rivera was charged with criminal threatening, second degree assault, strangulation, simple assault deadly weapon and bodily injury, and possession of a class C substance (Adderall).
According to Tewksbury Police, officers were responding to an assault call in the 800th block of East Street, and found Rivera after he left the area. Police said Rivera was involved in the fight on East Street.

He was taken into custody without incident and was scheduled to be arraigned at Lowell District Court Friday.
Rivera was also arrested in June 2020 after police said he threatened to kill a Salisbury Beach food stand owner. He pleaded guilty in Aug. 20 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
