Man Charged With Dealing Fentanyl, Crack In Tewksbury: Police

Police arrested a man on drug-dealing charges at a Tewksbury motel Monday.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A man was arrested on fentanyl and crack cocaine dealing charges in Tewksbury on Monday, according to police. Cesar Franco-Lara, 39, of Lawrence, was charged with distribution of fentanyl, distribution of crack cocaine, and providing a false name to law enforcement.

Police were conducting surveillance in the area of 95 Main St. when they saw what they believed to be a drug deal between a motel guest and a man in a vehicle. The address is for a Motel 6.

Investigators stopped the motel guest, who was on foot, and found the guest had 2.6 grams of fentanyl and 1.6 grams of crack cocaine. The person now faces a charge of possession of fentanyl and possession of crack cocaine.

The vehicle's driver, who police identified as Franco-Lara, had $140 in cash. He was taken into custody. Police said he later provided them with a false name.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court.
