Man Charged With Kidnapping, Rape In Tewksbury, Police Say
A man is being held without bail and faces a litany of charges in the case, police said.
TEWKSBURY, MA — A man was arrested on kidnaping, rape, and several other charges Tuesday, according to the Tewksbury Police Department.
A woman reported that she had left her home with a man and was brought to Main Street where she was held against her will.
An investigation identified Carlos Candelario, 35, of Lawrence, as a suspect, police said.

Police found and arrested Candelario at a motel at 95 Main St. Police then searched his room and found a loaded gun and multiple bags of what are believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl.
He was charged with kidnapping, rape, deriving support from prostitution, trafficking of a person for sexual servitude, possession with intent to distribute a class D drug, three counts of possession with intent to distribute a class B drug, possession with intent to distribute a class E drug, possession with intent to distribute a class a class A drug, possession of a firearm without an FID card, and improper storage of a firearm.

Candelario was arraigned at Lowell District Court and is being held without bail.
