Mattapan Man Charged With Assaulting Another Man At Motel
Isiah Malik James had met the alleged victim, who is from Haverhill, at the motel the previous day, police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A 28-year-old Mattapan man is facing charges including assault and battery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping after being accused of assaulting another man at a Motel 6 in Tewksbury Wednesday, according to police.
The man, Isiah Malik James, had met the alleged victim, who is from Haverhill, at the motel the previous day, police said. The attack occurred early Wednesday morning and police received the report around 12 p.m.
James, who works in North Andover, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, intimidation, vandalization of property, threat to commit crime, and robbery, according to police.

He was held without bail and arraigned in Lowell District Court Thursday.
