Mavericks, Warriors Score Junior Division Wins
Suns, Raptors, T'Wolves come up big in the Cadet Division.

Junior Division
Mavericks over the Clippers

Despite a strong effort, the Clippers fell to the Mavericks. Andrew Ferreira led the scoring for the Clippers, sinking two baskets for 4 points. Patrick Dunn and Joshua Seghrue each contributed by sinking two baskets. Strong efforts were turned in by the entire team, including Matthew Pelletier and Richard Kramer who were busy hustling at both ends of the floor. Alex Karnell took some good shots at the hoop while Sean Mackenzie continued to look good handling the ball on offense. Owen Gilligan, Tyler Paulding, and Matthew Brennan were quite busy playing defense against a skilled Mavericks team.
Warriors 24 - Spurs 11

The Warriors picked up their first win of the season Saturday against a tuff Spurs team. Derek Wallace led the offense with 10 points followed by Jason Richardson with 6. Rounding off the scoring for the Warriors were Nate Wilkinson, Nick Stephens, and Zack Lalonde. Both Jack Kenneally and Tyler Strong had a few good shot that just wouldn’t fall. The team played great defense down the stretch hold off the Spurs attack. With big rebounding from Alec Strangman and Mike Bankowski to preserve the win
The Warriors had a great team effort and beat the Spurs. Scoring for the Spurs was lead by Brandon Melo with 5 points and a great all around game. Other scores were Ryan Briley, Michael Kelleher and Jake Winter each chipping in with 2 points. On defense Jack Bieren and Sean Phaneuf both had a few key steals and some big rebounds.
Eagles 22 Wizards 14
The Eagles put together another good team effort to garner their third win. Nathan Jones, Patrick Killion and James Reardon were the defensive stars of the game. Nick Pereira led the Eagles with 6 points. Matt Fronduto, Fran Pino and Andrew Froio all scored four points each. Both Ryan Joyce and Matt Ferreira each contributed with two points. With a strong team effort the Eagles overcame a very good opponent.
76ers over the Cavs
Cavs vs 76ers The 76ers had a slow start to the game scoring 6 pts in the first half. The 76ers turned up the tempo on offense finishing the game for their first win. The team maintained composure on defense communicating well with each other and maintaining the zone defense scheme. The top defensive players started with Dominic Cohen, Arya Mehrabani, Adam Trudeau, Zach Hines and Adam Hines. The 76ers also displayed great team passing and dominated the offensive boards giving everyone multiple opportunities for scoring. 76ers scoring finished with Paul Manzi (8pts.), Jon Mahoney (6pts.), Nick Cappiello (4pts), Zach Hines (2pts), Rich Cappiello (2pts.), Adam Hines (1pt.). Great job guys!
Cadet Division Summaries
Suns 18
Bucks 12
The Suns played a good all-around game in defeating the Bucks 18-12 on
Saturday. Logan Frost and Doug Renna had their best games each playing great defense, stealing the ball and scoring two points each. Joey Pazyra played great at point guard scoring two points and passing the ball real well. Sam White and Robert Cortes received some of those passes helping them score six points each. Max Tyler and Damien Hadden stepped up their games playing solid defense and rebounding the ball. Gavin Thomasset and Brady Eagan each played huge inside racking up a total of fifteen boards helping to hold a good Bucks team to twelve points.
The Bucks scoring was led by Adam Gallagher (6 points) followed by Jake Aylward (4 points) and Cam Paolillo (2 points). Bucks forwards Colin Fullerton, Zak Fontaine, Julian Costello and Cullain Johnson played great defense throughout the game keeping the score close until the end. Bucks guards Elias Melki, Travis Cohen and Brody McGratty provided solid ball handling and passing.
T-wolves 20 Celtics 10
The Celtics were outplayed on both sides of the ball during their lost to an outstanding T-wolves team. Their ten points came from Lucas Tryder, 6 points, and Sean Fahey, 4 points. There were some solid individual defensive efforts delivered by Cam Loder, Jeremy Perez, and Dominic Searles. As a team the Celtics were able to move the ball on offensive, but could not get the ball to drop enough for the win. Moving the ball well on offense were Ryan Robert, Rob Ryan, Michael Bottaro, Leo Strangman, and Connor Moynihan.
The T-Wolves never trailed, with Domenic Valway (14pts) and Jack Panilaitis (6pts) leading the way in scoring with help from Derek Wilkinson, Luke Maresca and Shayne MacDonald who made some excellent shots to round out the offense. The defense was strong throughout with Johnny Norwood and Joey Arsenault forcing many turnovers helping the T-Wolves keep the lead. Newcomer Abhi Lingareddy demonstrated excellent rebounding and passing skills and the whole team handled the ball well throughout the game. Key defensive plays were made by Derek Wilkinson with several steals and Jack Panilaitis, who made a great block to hold the Celtics at bay to ensure the victory!
Raptors 15 Rockets 11
Raptors came to play and with all the hype of today's match up with the Rockets the winning team would have to bring their A game and that's exactly what the Raptors did. The match was close with an equal amount of aggressive defense which led to the low scoring game. While Michael Wilson, Nicholas Wilson and Richie Raso controlled most of the defense. Base line pressure by Ryan Rosenberg and Henry Pestana was also key to the Raptors first victory .The Raptors offense was led by Tommy Crawford and Henry Pestana both having 6 points. The remaining points were scored by Christian Marsden, Hunter Delonais and Michael Wilson with most of the assist from Brady Lane and an over the head pass assist from Jake Pelletier to Henry Pestana for two was eye catching.
Thunder 26, Sixers 18
The Thunder pulled out the victory over a very tough Sixers team in a very back-and-forth, competitive game. It was a 2 point game throughout until the Thunder scored 8 consecutive points late in the 4th quarter to seal the victory 26-18. Colin Bozek (8 points) and Kyle McHugh (6 points) did a great job on the offense boards and led the team in scoring. Tommy Branchaud and Dylan Dufresne each had 4 points. John Beatrice and Aiden Trulli rounded out the scoring adding 2 point each. Trulli also led the team in assists and along with Sam White helped to effectively move the ball on offense. Taylor Pendleton had another great defensive game as did Owen Griffin who had a several good steals and came up with 2 blocks.
Sixer’s baskets from Drew Timmons and Michael Kelly, with the assistance of their offensive team mates, Adam Favreau, Michael Duggan and Cole Kimtis. Working very hard on the defensive side of the court this week were Danny Fleming, Dhruv Kaushal, Corey Butler and Gautham Anoop.
Knicks 22 Pistons 15
The Pistons put up a tough fight before finally falling to the Knicks 22-15 in a close game. The Pistons showed great heart fighting back from an early deficit and closing to within 3 in the fourth quarter. Kalu Olu led the scoring with 13 points including several acrobat moves in the paint. Luke McFadyen added a baseline jumper in addition to 3 assists. Dylan Crowley continued his excellent passing picking up 2 more assists. Jason Barnes and Mark Olu had several key rebounds and sparked several fast breaks. Logan Gallagher, Cam Cimino and Logan Texiera showed exceptional passing controlling the ball for long periods of time. Will McFadyen and Josh Engelken played great defense, especially in the second half as the Pistons made a big comeback.
The Knicks were led early by Trevor Trodden and Nick Polimeno who both came out with great energy on defense to slow the Piston offense. The offense was spread out evenly with scoring from Aiden Lefler, Ben Svendsen, Ethan Exilhomme, Justin Murphy, and Cole Duffett. Will McKay paced the offense with 10 points and Ethan Fleming was responsible for getting everyone involved with his great passing. Daedon Bere had his best game of the year handling the point on offense and pressuring the Piston’s guards on defense.
