Middlesex DA Investigating Fatal Shooting Monday In Lowell

LOWELL, MA – Local law enforcement officials are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Monday morning.

Just after 1 a.m. Monday, Lowell Police responded to Spring Ave. for a report of shots fired, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

When officers arrived, they found the victim sitting in his car outside of his home suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He has been identified at Tyrone Phet, 22, of Lowell.

Phet was transported to Lowell General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the district attorney's office, this does not appear to be a random incident.

The investigation is on going. No arrests have been made.
