Opinion: Miller Is An Asset To Tewksbury

In a letter to the editor, Tewksbury business owner Hanson Bechat backs Miller's run for selectman.

The following is a letter to the editor submitted by Hanson Bechat.

Dear Editor,

Jayne W Miller has served our town well over the years and always had our best interests at heart. I worked closely with Jayne on both the Wilmington and Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce and The Tewksbury Cable Television Advisory Committee. She is always willing to listen to fresh ideas and willing to support our Small Business Community.

As our current Town Moderator, she has proven to preside over the meeting while respecting everyone’s opinion and adhering to our town’s rules and regulations. She has demonstrated knowledge and commitment to a wide range of issues that we care about, from tax relief for seniors to smart development. Jayne has reached out to people of many demographics in our community, listened carefully, developed positive relationships, and demonstrated both awareness and caring about our issues.

As a business owner, I certainly want our leaders to be business savvy and skilled. As a community, we also need our leaders to understand all of our perspectives and all of our needs, so that decisions are made equitably. This, in a nutshell, is what Jayne will bring to the role of selectman.
