Orange Leaf Ready For Tewksbury Grand Opening

For Tewksbury frozen yogurt fans, this upcoming weekend will be, without a doubt, one to remember.

Saturday, Aug.18 at 11 a.m. will mark the long awaited and much anticipated grand opening of the new, Orange Leaf Frozen yogurt.

Located on Route 38 at Wamesit Place, near the entrance, Orange Leaf promises to bring a whole new kind of experience to Tewksbury.  Owned and operated by partners Ken Mackey, Gerry Goodwin and Don Coffin, Orange Leaf‘s mission statement is a simple one, “To promote community and family by providing a great tasting, sensible frozen dessert made just for you, by you, in an environment that is  as visually uplifting as it is welcoming.” 

Orange Leaf arrives in town with a decidedly local flavor. Two of the three owners are Tewksbury residents and the staff is filled almost entirely with local students. With inviting décor, a fun atmosphere, 16 flavors of self-serve yogurt and 35 different toppings to choose from, it seems to have the makings of a popular destination.

when Mackey, Goodwin and Coffin began hearing the buzz about the franchise and decided to investigate further. At that point it didn’t take long for the trio to find out that Orange Leaf was a perfect fit.

“Orange Leaf is a very young but very impressive franchise,” said Mackey.  “They started out in 2010 with 10 locations and today they are rapidly approaching 300.”

Of course, the decision wasn’t just about the numbers.  “Orange Leaf really does have the best product,” Mackey said.  “The atmosphere that the whole package creates really is incredible.”

A lifelong resident, Mackey is especially excited about bringing his new business to Tewksbury, “There’s nothing quite like opening up a business in your own hometown.”

This weekend will mark two openings for Orange Leaf.  On Friday, Aug. 17, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. the owners will host a private event for family, friends and some local elected officials.  On Saturday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. Orange Leaf will open their doors and begin selling their brand of self serve frozen yogurt to the public.
