TEWKSBURY, MA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a bus in Tewksbury on Monday, police said.

The accident happened in Stadium Plaza on Main Street at about 11:45 a.m.

Officers arrived to find that a person had been hit by a Lowell Regional Transit Authority bus that was on a planned route in the plaza’s parking lot, which is home to a Market Basket, Marshalls, and other businesses.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release any information on the victim.

Police did confirm that the bus driver involved remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.
