J&B Butcher Padres 4 – Pirates 24
Having not played a game in 2 weeks, the J & B Butcher Padres couldn't shake off the rust early enough in a 24 to 4 loss to the Pirates. Rachel Kelleher pitched a good 3rd inning allowing no runs. Taylor Donahoe had the hot glove with 3 pop ups caught and 2 line drives knocked down while pitching. Jacqueline Noftle put in 3 solid innings behind the plate. Haleigh Roy had a single in the 5th and scored twice on fast base running. Amanda Schiavone also scored for the Padres.

J&B Butcher Padres 11 – Silva Brothers Construction Tigers 21
The J&B Butcher Padres had a hard time keeping pace with the Tigers in a 21 to 11 game. Nora Butler pitched the first 3 innings. Haleigh Roy was hot at second base catching a line shot and also throwing to Taylor Donahoe at 1st accounting for 2 outs in the 5th inning. Olivia Raso had a nice 2 RBI single in the 2nd and Meagan Timmins had an RBI double in the fourth.

Aurora Salon Athletics 18 - Gateway Car Wash Twins 13
The Athletics were short-handed in this damp affair, but the girls played hard and outlasted a talented & determined Twins team. A solid combined effort from Lauren Barletta and Chelsea Grant on the mound enabled the A’s to squeak out the victory. On offense Leanne Lozowski reached base three times scoring three runs and Kaitlyn Sheehan also worked the count in her favor to reach base 3 times as well. Chelsea Grant continued her hot hitting, lacing a double and 3 singles in 5 trips to the plate.
Defensive play of the game went to Alyssa Hand at 2B who did a nice job backtracking into center field to make a putout on a shallow fly ball. Grant helped herself adding 4 putouts from the pitchers mound during her 2 innings on the hill.
Custom Iron Craft Mets 5 – Elia's Country Store Diamondbacks
After a long rainy week off from playing softball, the Mets lost to the Diamondbacks in the final inning after leading the entire game. Key defensive players for the Mets: Hope Splaine (with two great catches at first base), Michelle Maciel (with a double play at third base) and Emily Burns for outstanding defense at second base. Michelle Maciel had a base hit. Pitchers for the Mets were Kelsey Kelley (striking out three batters) and Lauren Whelton (striking out four batters).
The Elia’s Country Store Diamondbacks, aka the Cardiac Kids, struck again in their final at bat, this time vs the Mets on May 19th. Down two runs, the Diamondbacks quickly knotted the score on an Irene Houde single, driving in Dayna Salibe and Sarah Murray. With the bases full, Sarah Benson plated the game winner on a walk. Great pitching by Diamondbacks Sydney Quinn and Dayna Salibe held the Mets scoreless over the final three innings. They were credited with six strikeouts and were supported by great defense from second basemen Shannon Vasas and Tayla Spezzano. Each recorded rally ending ground outs. Diamondback catchers Jennifer Campbell and Julia Hartnett would have made a Boston Bruins goalie proud, making numerous stops. Diamondback sluggers in this match up included Briana Haley and Brooke Lamothe, who hit a hard hit liner that would have been for extra bases, but was caught on a terrific play by a Mets defender.
Aubuchon Hardware Royals 5 – Dovetail Construction Corp Angels 2
The Royals were down to only 8 players in Thursday nights game against the Angels, but they worked together and came out with an exciting win! Teagan Trant pitched the entire game with power and accuracy and struck out 16 batters. The Royals bats were very active against some strong Angels' pitching, with hits from Catherine Butler and Niamh Cote. The Royals moved quickly around the bases and Sarah Bishop did some smart base running. Defensively Marissa Doherty and Jacqui Marchant created key outs and sparked the Royals defense.
JR. U10 LeagueMcKesson Corp. Braves 5 - Mr. Gutterman Cubs 18
Emma Spezzano had a great night going 3 for 3 and 1 run scored.
Jess Smith also had a good night going 2 for 3 Danielle Howe went 2 for 3 and 1 run scored.
Jessica Caredeo was solid at third with an unassisted put out.
McKesson Corp. Braves 12 – Edelstein & Company LLP White Sox 20
Lizzy Stephens was solid behind the plate and at the plate she went 2 for 4 and 1 run scored.
Hannah Knoops had a great night going 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Becca Smith also had a hot bat going 4 for 4 and 3 RBIs,and Rachel Scaringi knocked in a run with a hit up the line in the second inning.
Mr. Gutterman Cubs 16 – Tewksbury VFW Post 8164 Giants 4
Kerry Shea and Briana Walker combined for solid pitching against the Giants. Shea pitched very well, her best thus far, and had 7 strike outs. Haley Mignon continues to lead the Cubs at bat, going 4 for 4 for the second game in a row. Shea had two hits. Alyssa Piccolo and Elizabeth Taggart contributed a hit each. The Cubs played good defense. Leah Doucot had a strong performance as catcher and made two unassisted outs. Walker also made two unassisted outs, fielding on the mound and twice taking the ball to home plate.
Mr. Gutterman Cubs 15 – Steven C. Demetriou, DMD Red Sox 9
Mr. Gutterman Cubs are making great strides at the plate. Haley Mignon is in the midst of a super hitting streak, going 4 for 4 for the third consecutive game. Mignon had three singles and a hard hit double. Alyssa Piccolo has really come alive at the plate, making this the third game in a row being successful at bat. Elizabeth Taggart is also finding success at the plate, for the second game in a row. Ava Nickerson and Carley Feingold had two hits each. Alexa Harrington, Kerry Shea, and Briana Walker each had a single. Great team effort at bat! Shea had an unassisted out as catcher. Walker continues to make strong defensive plays with an unassisted out as catcher and putting a double play in motion. After making a terrific catch at shortstop, Walker made a solid throw to second base, where Ava Nickerson was ready and able to finish the play.
Mr. Gutterman Cubs 13 – C&A Awards Indians 5
Haley Mignon pitched four great innings, striking out 9 of the 16 batters she faced. On the mound, Mignon also provided excellent defense. She had an unassisted out and set up a double play; fielding a tough fly ball and making a good throw to first, where Briana Walker was ready and able to finish the play. Walker also provided solid pitching. Carley Feingold was very productive at bat with four hits. Mignon had three, Walker and Alyssa Piccolo each had two. Piccolo has remained focused and determined at bat, hitting four games in a row. Isabella Schmidt had new found success at bat with a hit. Kerry Shea also had a hit.
Edelstein & Company LLP White Sox 5 – Wicked Cheesy Dodgers 3
The Wicked Cheesy Dodgers may have lost 5-3 to the White Sox, but they showed great spirit and determination, making plays in the field and exhibited patience at the plate, nearly pulling out a come from behind win. Despite the solid pitching of Helen Johnson and Gianna Ragucci of the Wicked Cheesy Dodgers, the White Sox were able to put together runs early and held on for the win against a scrappy Wicked Cheesy Dodger team. The Wicked Cheesy Dodgers bats came alive in the last inning in a rain soaked game, but were unable to get to a stingy White Sox pitching staff. The Dodgers were paced offensively by Brigh Cote, with 2 hits.
Wicked Cheesy Dodgers 7 – Steven C. Demetriou Red Sox 6
The Wicked Cheesy Dodgers defeated the Red Sox behind the pitching of Abigail Naugler and Gianna Ragucci and the timely and patient bats of the entire team. The Wicked Cheesy Dodgers played very good defense, led by plays from Brigh Cote, Naugler and Ragucci. The bats also came alive against a very tough Red Sox team, with timely hitting from Sarah Polimeno, who also made a nice defensive play late in the game.
