Police Raid Hotel Room, Recover Property From Multiple Break-ins

Two New Hampshire men placed under arrest.

The Police Department's efforts to combat burglaries in the community continued Monday with a raid on a hotel room in North Tewksbury.

Detectives, acting on evidence that had been recovered during a Billerica Police Department arrest on Saturday, were able to obtain a search warrant Monday for Room 314 at the Extended Stay America, 1910 Andover St. What they found was a room filled with numerous pieces of jewelry and electronics.  Some of the items recovered have been connected to house breaks in Tewksbury and other local communities.

The break in the case came when Billerica Police arrested  Michael Meucci, 29, of 15 Cypress St, Salem, NH, and Daniel Desjardins, 27, of 455 Pine St., Manchester, NH, property was recovered from a house break that occurred at 158 Astle St., Tewksbury, on Friday, June 24.

According to Sheehan, Meucci and Desjardins were staying at the hotel for an extended period of time, leading to the search warrant and the raid.Sheehan said his department is working cooperatively with other police departments in the region to connect the recovered items with other house break victims.   

Charges in Tewksbury against Desjardins and Meucci have not yes been specified but, according to Sheehan, as victims identify their property, charges for receiving stolen property will be forthcoming for each jurisdiction, including Tewksbury.
