Local, State Police Search for Suspect who Allegedly Rammed Stolen Vehicle into Police Cruiser

Police say the suspect bailed from a stolen vehicle after ramming it into a parked police cruiser in Tewksbury Tuesday night.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Police from multiple towns are searching for a suspect who allegedly bailed out of a stolen vehicle and ran off on foot in Tewksbury and Wilmington.

Tewksbury Police Chief Sheehan told Patch that the vehicle had been stolen in Boston earlier Tuesday. Three K-9 units and officers from surrounding communities participated in the search.

According to Wilmington Police, authorities last saw the suspect on Main Street near South Street and Salem Road in Tewksbury. Police said the suspect had not yet been found as of 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

Wilmington Police also stated that the suspect rammed the stolen vehicle into a stationary police vehicle.

Sheehan stated that the suspect bailed out of the vehicle in the area of Cabot Road in Tewksbury. The suspect is described as a slim black male with a blue plaid shirt and an orange and green backpack.

The State Police Air wing unit is also assisted in the search.
