Tewksbury let game two slip away by just two points, but it was all downhill from there. Dracut took the match victory with ease and Tewksbury's regular season ended with the loss.
With the regular season now in the past, Tewksbury coach Jim Ray took some time to reflect on the Redmen's accomplishments thus far, and the players that made it all possible.
"We have had a great season. These girls are some of the best that I have had to coach. Individually they're very good, but collectively they're great," said Ray.
Ali Luppie was recently named a 2010 All-Conference Selection, and Ray feels she has earned it both on and off the court.
"(Luppi) was the heart of our team. She has such great court presence," said Ray. "She is a solid consistent all around player - but a great kid. She is smart, very easy going and a true leader on and off the court," he added.
Along with Luppi, captain Ali Remigio also has acted as a leader for the Redmen.
"(Luppi) and (Remigio) lead our team in support of one another. At the net (Remigio) made some great plays. She came up big every time in one capacity or another," said Ray.
Captain Jess Bridle, Tewksbury's setter, and Liz McVey were the Tewksbury's offensive powerhouses this season.
"(Bridle) is bright and knows who to set in what situation. She is quick and one of the fastest setters I've ever coached," said Ray.
Alina Rosmarinofski also came up big in countless games throughout the regular season. She has often been Tewksbury's kill leader, and a consistent force for her squad.
"(Rosmarinofski) is a good outside hitter, she also jump serves and came through for us in many key situations. She kept us in the game several times with her hitting and serving and she is a pretty good defender as well," said Ray.
The Redmen will rely on these key players in the upcomming post-season, but will also look to the bench to bring Tewksbury the depth they need.
