(The following information was submitted by the coaches of the Tewksbury Redmen Mite Hockey program.)
The Tewksbury Redmen Mites Hockey Team continued their strong play going
1-0-1 over the past week.
The Redmen started the week off with a convincing 6-2 win against Waltham.
The Redmen started quickly, peppering the Waltham goalie with shots by
Conor Cremin, Brady Chapman, and Billy Doherty. Andrew Della Piana put the
Redmen up early 1-0 on a nice shot.
Alex Pescatore then scored the 1st of his 2 goals to put the Redmen up 2-0 after the 1st period. Andrew Grieco continued his assist streak with 2 assists in the first period. Waltham battled back with 2 quick goals in the 2nd period but the Redmen defense led by Maci Chapman, Jade Owrika, Jason Cooke, & Sean Murphy shut the door on Waltham. Sean Murphy netted 2 in a two-minute span to put the Redmen up 4-2, one of them off a sweet pass from Jason Cooke.
Timmy Sweeney scored his first goal of the year to put the game out of reach, off a nice pass from Billy Doherty.
The Redmen took on first place Haverhill-Pentucket in front of a loud & raucous Redmen crowd at Janas Rink in Lowell. The Redmen went down 2-0 early but goalie Ben O'Keefe made a number of acrobatic saves to keep the score close. The Redmen, feeding off the hometown crowd, tied the game at 2 with Sean Murphy scoring 2 goals, with an assist going to Jack Griffin.

The Haverhill team stormed back with 2 quick goals in the 2nd period to go
ahead 4-2. The Redmen cut the lead to 4-3 just before the end of the 2nd
period on a hard -working goal by Alex Pescatore.
The Redmen had a number of chances early in the 3rd period to tie the game off shots from the Billy Doherty, Conor Cremin, and Brady Chapman line. The Redmen finally tied the game 4-4 with just under 4 minutes to play on tic-tac-toe passing from Maci Chapman to Jason Cooke to Jake McDonough, who was able to slide the puck past the Haverhill goalie. The lead did not last long as Haverhill was able to regain the lead 5-4. The Redmen, refusing to give up, kept attacking the Haverhill zone and Sean Murphy registered the Hat Trick, scoring his 3rd goal to tie the game 5-5. After a brief delay to clear all the hats off the ice from Murph's hat trick, the Redmen had chances to win the game in the final minute but shots by Andrew Della Piana, Jake McDonough, and Alex Pescatore were turned away.
