Aly Spencer sparks TMHS girls soccer team to 3-0 win over NDA; volleyball team tops Lowell, 3-0.

The home team enjoyed a significant advantage in time of possession throughout the game, peppering the Notre Dame net with over a dozen shots.

Spencer added an insurance goal at the 11-minute mark of the second half, taking a perfect pass from sophomore striker Kashka Gammon and breaking in alone on goal. That goal represented a new career high in goals scored in a season for Spencer, who leads Tewksbury with 11 goals in just eight games so far this year.
For Gammon, it was her team-leading sixth assist of the season.
recorded her fifth shut out of the year, while Megan Bouthot, Meaghan Blaisdell, Kelly Quigley, and Olivia Gallella all played well in front of Davies. Aggressive play from midfielders Sara Semenza, Nicole Chaet, Caitlyn Ludka, Jordyn LeBlanc, April McDermott and Maria Correa led to Tewksbury's huge advantage in time of possession.
Coach Jeff Keefe was able to work several new faces into the game, as well. Sophomores Olivia Boudreau and Ashley Callahan and freshman Michelle Creegan all saw varsity playing time.
The Tewksbury girls will now prepare themselves to meet the iron in the MVC next week, as they host two top-ranked teams in Andover (Tuesday) and Central Catholic (Thursday).
VOLLEYBALL TEAM SPIKES LOWELL, 3-0
continued its solid play Friday afternoon with a 3-0 blanking of Lowell. The win was Tewksbury's third victory in its last four games, and for the fourth straight match, coach Jim Ray left the gym with a smile.
"We're playing real well lately," Ray said. "Lowell wasn't the toughest team on our schedule but for once, we didn't play down to their level. We had another solid match."

Over the past nine days, Tewksbury has blanked Methuen, Haverhill and Lowell in straight sets, while losing to Billerica 3-0 in what may have been the team's best performance over that stretch. The win over Lowell improves the team's record to 5-3 overall, 4-3 in the MVC.
"As we play the Division 2 teams on our schedule, we're doing real well," Ray said. "We've always had trouble with the Division 1 teams, but the way we're going, I think the girls are ready to rise to the occasion and start playing well against them, too."
Division 1 power Chelmsford looms next on the schedule, next Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in Tewksbury.
"I think we've had three or four really good matches in a row and I hope this carries over into the Chelmsford match," Ray said.
