Redmen Roundup: Softball Team Pummels Cambridge R&L

and had two hits each to lead the to a mercy rule shortened 13-1 win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin. Katie Doherty tripled and drove in three runs. Seven different players had hits in the balanced Redmen attack.

Brooke Hardy picked up the victory in the circle. She and Marsh split the pitching chores. With the win, Tewksbury improved to 13-6 on the year.

Baseball

, tossing his third two-hitter of the year to lead the Redmen past Methuen, 4-2 in the opening round of the Lawrence Invitational Tournament.

Chotkowski allowed just one earned run and struck out five. He is now 6-2 on the season.

Tewksbury trailed in this game for much of the way, but exploded for four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Mark Daley had three hits for the Redmen. Frankie McGlaughlin ripped an RBI single to tie the game and then scampered home on a triple by Zach DiRocco to put Tewksbury on top for good.

Tewksbury (7-10) will play for the tournament title Friday night.
