Seniors To Combine Benefit Breakfast/Harvest Fair on Nov. 4

Fall is a busy season at the Tewksbury Senior Center.

An awesome time was had by all who attended the Edwards Twins luncheon and show this past Sunday. Many thanks to all those that helped with the event. The Edwards Twins will be back to the Tewksbury Senior Center to perform their Christmas Show on Sunday, December 9th. There will be two show: a matinee at 1:00 PM; and, an evening show at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $30 per person and are now available.

Due to the confusion with ticket sales after the show on Sunday, we are asking those people who purchased and paid for tickets to call 978-640-4482 or drop by and indicate the name, ticket number and table number on your ticket. Everyone's help in straightening out this matter will be very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

The Council has receive tickets for the Elks Thanksgiving for Tewksbury Senior Citizens. The event will be held on Thursday, November 15th. Tickets will be distributed beginning on Monday, October 29th at 8:15 AM. This is a wonderful event put on by the Elks Lodge for Tewksbury Seniors. Tickets are free and bus transportation will be provided by the COA to those who are in need of a ride. Those utilizing the bus are asked to indicate this fact when picking up a ticket.

This Friday morning, October 26th, the Snooti Patooti Gift Shop will hold a meeting for its volunteer sales people. The meeting time is 10:00 AM.

This Friday evening, October 26th, the Friends of the Elderly will hold its Halloween Dance. The dance will be held from 7:00 to 10:30 with the annual Halloween costume contest being held at 7:15. Dancing to the music of the Boots and Company Band will follow. Tickets are available at the door at $10 per person.

Those Seniors who have appointments for Dr. Smith's Podiatry Clinic, are reminded that the clinic is being held this Saturday, October 27th. Please check your appointment time.

This Saturday, October 27th, is also the date of the Senior Center Cribbage Tournament. The public is welcome. Registration begins at 12:00 noon; and, the cost is $20 per person.

We have reserved 30 free tickets for the “Tops In Blue” (military concert) that will be held at the Lowell Auditorium this Sunday, October 28th. A bus will be provided by the COA for this event and depart from the Senior Center at 6:15 PM. To help defray the cost of the bus tickets will be $5. Please obtain a ticket at the Senior Center by Friday at noon.

A Jon Mansfield afternoon dance will be held next Monday, October 29th. Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM followed by the dance at 12:30.

Once again we are noting that there has been a change regarding the Harvest Fair which was scheduled for Saturday, November 10th. This year the event will be combined and held on a Senior Center Breakfast Day. On Sunday, November 4th, the Seniors will hold a Breakfast Benefit and a Harvest Fair at the same time. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11:00 AM; and, the Fair will be held from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Breakfast tickets will remain at $6 for adults; $3 for Children 12 and under and toddlers free. Admission to the Fair is free. Craft vendors are welcome to join in the Fair. Table space will be available at $25 per table and $40 for two tables. Registrations are now being accepted.

Please note that the Lee Lewis and his all star review show has been canceled for November 2nd.

A trip to the Mohegan Sun has been scheduled for Monday, November 5th. There are still a few tickets left. The ticket cost is $21 and includes motorcoach transportation and a casino package.

Monday, November 5th is also the date for the Upscale “Intake of Items” Day. Items for the Upscale shop will be accepted during the hours of 3:00 to 7:00 PM. This is also a great time to do a bit of shopping, too.

Then on Tuesday, November 6th the Presidential Election will be held. Please note that all programs and activities at the Senior Center will not be held on election day. The Center will solely be open for the Election.

Due to several requests for a Country Western Dance, a dance has been scheduled for Friday, November 30th with the John Penny Band performing for the evening. Tickets are now available at $10 per person.

Next week we are hoping to have information on both the COA Christmas Dinner and New Years....where does the time go?
