Shannon Demos for School Committee

Letter to the Editor

I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon Demos who is a candidate for the Tewksbury School Committee. I was thoroughly impressed with her motivation and qualifications. Her background includes years of experience as an educator and community volunteer. Shannon was a teacher in the Tewksbury school department for 18 years and progressed to assistant principal in another school district. She has numerous volunteer experience including, member of the Elementary School Building Committee, member of the Tewksbury Memorial High School Council, and member of the last two Superintendent Search Committees to name a few.

Shannon has two daughters who attend TMHS and it is clear she is fully invested in making our school system the best it can be. I would suggest that voters take the time to learn more about Shannon either by speaking to her or reading about her strong background which is an ideal fit as a new member of Tewksbury’s School Committee.

This statement stood out to me from Shannon’s flyer, “Optimistic and eager to work collaboratively with elected officials, school employees, and residents in order to best serve the students of Tewksbury while at the same time maintaining fiscal responsibility in decision making that will benefit all stakeholders in the community.”

As a former elected official, that statement resonates with me and is exactly what makes an outstanding member of our school committee.

Please join me in supporting Shannon Demos for the Tewksbury School Committee and vote for Shannon on Saturday, April 6th.
