Shots Fired During High-Speed Vehicle Chase: Tewksbury Police

TEWKSBURY, MA — Gunshots rang out near Route 133 early Sunday morning during a high-speed vehicle chase, according to Tewksbury police.

Authorities received a 911 call just before 3 a.m. from a person who reported being pursued by a speeding vehicle on Interstate 495 at Route 133, police said. Officers responded and heard five shots, but were unable to catch up to the vehicles as they entered Andover on Route 133, according to police.

The caller hung up and authorities were unable to re-establish contact but they did recover five shell casings and continue to investigate the incident, police said.
