State Police Search Tewksbury State Hospital Again

Police were using excavation equipment in a wooded area on the hospital's property Monday afternoon.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- A spokesperson for the Middlesex District Attorney's office said an Massachusetts State Police excavation work in Tewksbury Monday was part of an ongoing investigation.

"The police activity is in connection to an ongoing investigation and is not related to a recent event. We are unable to comment further at this time," said DA spokesperson Elizabeth Vlock.

Massachusetts State Police were conducting the investigation in a wooded area off of Livingston Street on a portion of the Tewksbury State Hospital Conservation Restriction Area. Earlier this month, State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's office conducted an extensive search on the property of Tewksbury State Hospital. While officials confirmed that the search, which included police dogs, took place, they would not offer any other details.
