State Rep Miceli Endorses Kratman For Tewksbury Selectman

TEWKSBURY, MA -- The following letter to the editor endorsing Mark Kratman for selectmen in the Tewksbury Town Election on April 7 was submitted by State Rep. James Miceli (D-Wilmington). Miceli's district includes Wilmington and Tewksbury.

Before I had the pleasure of serving Wilmington and Tewksbury as State Representative, I served many years in Wilmington as a selectman and a planning board member. Over that time, I learned the importance of what competent and forward-thinking local government makes on the lives of every resident, as well as the type of individuals who are great at working towards a better future. Mark Kratman, I can say with total confidence, is that type of individual.

Mark is one of those individuals who sees the big picture, which explains why he has been so excellent at things such as advocating for improving Route 38, promoting the local business community, and showcasing Tewksbury as the opportunity it truly is. I quite often see him at the local Chamber of Commerce events, where he has known just about every new business owner by name, but quite often has influenced their decision to open where they have. They know, whatever the problem may be, Mark is there to help them. He was instrumental when the town and state worked together to improve Route 38 at the Lowell line, and has constantly advocated for continuing this project through the entire town. He continuously is available, and not just to local businesses or town agencies, but to residents. We have worked together many times on behalf of an elderly resident, a family in trouble, or a neighborhood before confronting a wide range of issues. Mark has always handled these problems with me quickly, professionally, and discretely to get the job done, not expecting any praise.

I know with Mark that the town of Tewksbury is under the very best leadership possible, with a caring, confident, and watchful eye for the town and each resident alike. I urge voters to support him, and look forward to a better Tewksbury.
