Jeff Dufour Wins 18th Essex District State Rep. GOP Primary

Dufour, a Tewksbury resident, will challenge Democratic state Rep. Tram Nguyen in the fall.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Jeff Dufour came out on top in the 18th Essex District Republican primary to challenge state Rep. Tram Nguyen in the fall.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Dufour won with two-thirds of the vote against Tewksbury's Shishan Wang.

Dufour, of Tewksbury, works in information and systems management. He is running for his first elected office.

Nguyen ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. She has represented the district since 2019, when she unseated Republican Jim Lyons.

The district includes parts of Andover, North Andover, Tewksbury and Boxford.

The incumbent is marked with an asterisk (*). The winning candidate is in bold.

With 100 percent reporting, according to the Associated Press and the Tewksbury town clerk.

Republican Primary

Jeff Dufour — 66.7% — 1,643 votes

Shishan Wang — 33.3% — 819 votes
