Strongwater Farm uses its tranquil horse-farm setting to provide equestrian-assisted activities and therapies for those who are often unable to find help elsewhere. Veterans returning from war with PTSD, young people learning to cope with autism spectrum disorders, and young mothers and fathers struggling with substance use disorders have all experienced vital healing and help at Strongwater. Yet the Farm, a nonprofit corporation, receives no governmental funding. Its work is made possible by over 300 volunteers, who donate their time to improve the lives of others, and by the generosity of foundations, individuals and proceeds of events like the Hoedown.
