SWAT Team Captures Tewksbury Man After Lowell Robbery

Police say Conor Cadigan, 23, of Tewksbury, locked himself in a nearby home after the robbery Wednesday night.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Lowell Police called in the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT division to capture a Tewksbury man accused of robbing Jerry's Food Store in South Lowell Wednesday night. Police say Conor Cadigan, 23, of Tewksbury, locked himself in a nearby house after fleeing the scene of the robbery. He was charged with armed assault with intent to rob, unlawful possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

No one was injured in the incident. Cadigan also had an outstanding warrant on a kidnapping charge. Cadigan was arrested and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation in 2015 following the robberies of two men in Lowell, one of which involved a carjacking.
