Taxes are not an even deal any longer!

The town of Tewksbury should examine ways to bring in more than tax dollars from future commercial development. This is not a blame game. A campaign is about expressing concerns and explaining ideas. Speaking in my former capacity as a member of the Tewksbury Conservation Commission and the Tewksbury Zoning Board of Appeals,I can say that allowing Tewksbury to grow was the right thing to do. Many residents often felt differently and the opposition was tough. It was not easy to stand my ground and vote YES to developments in North Tewksbury. Our town kept its rural character on Main Street as long as we could. There was ten years development in five years time. Rt.38 was growing, along with the building of large 40B Housing and other subdivision residential building. We needed more tax monies in order to continue providing residents services they were entitled to as well as being used to having. Always remember South Street Fire Station was built in South Tewksbury for a reason. South Tewksbury residents needed a fire stationAND First responders in their neighborhood long before we became a busy crowded community. Town officials and residents worked hard to create a town designed to make Tewksbury a desirable location to live or do business. We needed a new police station and there was talk of a new school. Along with the strain on our Fire and police depts for a crowded Rt.1 effect on our Main Street. Therefore, I do not regret voting yes to North Tewksbury development as that tax base was and continues to be ,needed. It is because of a deep personal concern for the love of community that I exclaim TAXES ARE NOT AN EVEN DEAL ANY LONGER!
