Blazers capture championship, edging Rockets, 43-39
What an end to a great season for the Blazers going 15-1. Not only was it a great game but very entertaining for all. George Hopkins should be commended for the hard work and success he had with a very talented Rockets team.

The Blazers had a little redemption from last years’ loss in the championship game. With only four returning players and seven new Blazers it would have been very easy to consider this season a rebuilding year. From day one they showed the ability to play unselfish basketball. The championship game was a back and forth affair with the Blazers finishing on top. On offense Zack Cowles led all scorers with 12 points. Connor Sullivan and Ricky Berquist added 9 each, Christos Kourkoulos and Matt LaCascia had 8 and 5 respectfully.
Defense is what won the game for the Blazers holding the leagues’ most potent offense to just 39 points. The Blazers big guys Mike McDermott, John Melloni, and Brendan Cooke controlled the boards on both ends of the court. Without the tenacious pressure put on by Brendan Kelly, Ali Jose Reza-Reyes, and Mike Eggerts the outcome of the game would have gone the other way.

From day one back in November, this team improved in so many different ways. Ball control was the key to our success with the strong play of guards Kourkoulos, Berquist, Kelly, and Sullivan. The presence under the rim was no match with the rest of the league being led by McDermott, Cooke, Meloni, and Lacascia. The unselfish play of Kelly, Reza-Reyes, and “Eggs” is what contributed the Blazers leading the league in defense. As coaches, we would like to thank all of our players, parents, and League Rep. for their commitment for the entire year. It was a pleasure to coach this team and we will remember you always. Sincerely, Kathy Kourkoulos and Ed Sullivan.

Junior DivisionHornets Win Championship Game to Complete Perfect Season
Congratulations to the Junior Hornets for an undefeated season, and finishing with a championship victory. The Hornets won the championship game on Saturday against the Mavericks.
The impressive players who make up the team are Nicholas Catizone, Blake and Braden Hiltz, Alex Kelleher, Andrew Maclean, Ryan Meuse, Shaun Murphy, Christopher and Michael Repucci, and Kyle Harkins. Running the table is something each player should be proud and is not an easy accomplishment. The coaches Stephen Harkins, Brian Hiltz, and Craig Harkins want to thank the players for a great season and thank the parents for their support.
The final game of the TBBL Juniors was closer than the score appears. The Mavericks played stifling defense during the first half but gave way to the Hornets during the second half and fell to an amazing team 40 – 24. The Mavericks, who were seeded seventh entering the playoffs, put up a valiant effort.
The Mavericks defensive was led by Brandon Coolidge (7 rebounds), Derek Lefler (6 rebounds), Matt Salvato (3 rebounds, 2 steals), Jimmy Strickler (5 rebounds) and Anthony Miano (2 steals, 2 rebounds). Offensively the Mavericks were led by Joe Rosberg (10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block), Michael Lambet (6 points, 4 rebounds) , Kyle Obst (4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals), Kyle Rogers (2 points, 7 rebounds) and Riley Frost (2 points, 3 steals). The Mavericks had a terrific year and should be really proud of their accomplishments throughout this season.
