Tewksbury American 11s Win Without Swinging A Bat
Tewksbury won their first game in the District 14 Tournament after North Andover East was forced to forfeit.
Those in hopes of watching baseball Friday evening at Poulin Field in Tewksbury were quickly disappointed.
The game, pitting the Tewksbury American 11-year-old All-Stars against North Andover East, was over before it began.
With only eight kids on their roster, North Andover had to forfeit the game, bringing their record to 0-2 in pool play.

An automatic win was granted to Tewksbury, evening out their record to 1-1.
Disappointment was a common feeling among both teams.

"They all just wanted to play," said Barry McKarry, Tewksbury manager.
Steve Vetere, North Andover's manager, agreed.
"The kids are really disappointed," Vetere said. "They were looking forward to playing baseball."
Tewksbury American's next game will be on Sunday at 7:30 pm against Methuen East. They need a victory if they hope to advance in the tournament.
North Andover will face off against Billerica American at 2:30 pm that same day.
