Tewksbury Brothers Win Team Signed Bruins Jersey From Library

Michael & Will earned the Bruins jersey as part of the library's Summer Reading Program.

TEWKSBURY, MA - Michael Faulise, age 9, and his brother Will, age 7, are the winners of a team signed Boston Bruins hockey jersey. The raffle winner's name was chosen at the Summer Reading Party on Friday, August 9.

The brothers joined the Tewksbury Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, and read for “probably 200 hours” to win raffle tickets for a chance at the prize, according to Will. They planned to pool their tickets and share the prize if one of them was chosen.

In addition to raffle tickets, participants in the library’s Summer Reading Program read to earn beads for each 15 minutes, hour, and four hours of reading. Michael and Will’s necklaces are a visual representation of the reading they did over the summer.

The jersey was part of a series of prizes that the Boston Bruins offers as part of its When You Read, You Score program. This summer marks the tenth anniversary of the program and the team’s partnership with Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC), and the Massachusetts Library System to encourage children and teens to read over the summer months.
